Hey loves and welcome back,
I’ve just received my You Beauty Box for this month and WOW what a box it is.
It came presented as usual in the signature black boxes. Which I am loving.
The first thing to strike me this month was the smell. Usually I’m opening tubs and lids. Shoving my nose into everything. This time, the minute I received my parcel all I could smell was orange.
The products I received this month were;
- Dr Dennis Gross – Alpha Beta Peel Masks
- Skinfix – Hand Repair Cream
- Dr.Ceuticals – Pumice Foot Scrub
- Optiat – “Feel Great” Mandarin Coffee Scrub
I pay £6.99 including delivery for the Gold Membership. This enables me to choose 4 products a month, along with other perks. Such as extra samples or freebies.
I think this is an AMAZING price, specially considering the price point of some of these items.
So let’s cut the small talk and get on with my opinions.
Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel
I like that this is a three day trial. Sometimes you only get one little sachet which is great to get an idea. But not so wonderful for getting an accurate review on how the product will work for you. This product is said to
“Diminish the three most common signs of ageing. It improved radiance; it evens skin tone & texture and minimises pores and fine lines”
Being that I’ve been working hard to get my acne on a leash recently. I’m definitely all in for trying new solutions. Specially as this is. Product which had popped up for me a few times across the skincare YouTubers I follow.
It comes with two step sachets, a wet towelette in each. You wash your face, apply step one, wait for about 30 seconds or until your face is completely dry. Then apply step two, then follow it up with your usual moisturiser. That’s it, lay your head down and go to sleep.
This product is recommended for over night use. Likely because of the acids in it. Which don’t tend to react well with sunlight.
This product did sting me a little bit, but my skin is very sensitive. But it has definitely made my skin more balanced and hasn’t flared up my acne.
I would actually say that it has helped clear it a little bit. But because of my new ramped up skincare regime. It’s hard to give an accurate review of that.
But overall this is a great product. This can be purchased from SpaceNK for £73.50, it’s one that I would possibly repurchase.
But not right now because that’s seriously expensive. In my humble opinion.
Skinfix Hand Repair Cream
I struggle massively with dermatitis on my hands. So the Skinfix Hand Repair Cream, was a great choice for me. I am a bit of a germaphobe. So I wash my hands a million times a day. Meaning specially in the winter months, my skin can get really sore.
I usually rely on Lush’s Helping Hands or Handy Gurugu, to keep them moisturised and calmed. This cream is definitely a contender for those.
It’s rich and smells amazing, it doesn’t leave my hands feeling greasy – which can be a problem with the Lush ones. Plus it’s in a tube so it’s far more portable to travel with.
It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and I will definitely be repurchasing this. A solid 9/10 for me. This can be purchased from Boots and is priced at £15.99
Dr.Ceuticals Pumice Foot Scrub
This stuff is potent. I love it. I am a massive fan of the Volcano Foot Mask from Lush, which is another heavy peppermint/menthol combo. So combining these two together was heaven.
I soaked my feet, in my blow up foot spa for 30 minutes with some Epsom salts and Listerine. I gave them the scrub of their life with this bad boy, coated them in Volcano, wrapped them in clingfilm and sat helplessly in my chair watching TV for another 25 minutes. When I washed it off I couldn’t believe how soft my feet were.
I wasn’t born yesterday, but if you’d have stroked my foot right there and then. I might have just fooled you into thinking I was.
Again, this is another stellar product for me and I will definitely be repurchasing. This can be found on their website and is priced at £6.99.
My final full size item (and possibly my favourite)
Opitat – Mouthwatering Mandarin Coffee Scrub
This is the stuff I could smell first. It’s super zingy and sweet. Perfect for a morning shower or a post work out rub down.
Opitat stands for One Person’s Trash Is Another’s Treasure. They take used coffee grounds and whip them up into a deliciously scented and effective scrub. This product actually makes me want to start utilising all those grounds that I bin on a weekly basis.
It smells fantastic, it feels fantastic and it makes my skin super smooth. The scent of it lingers on the skin and it is strong. So if you’re not an orange lover they do offer and Lemongrass option too.
This product is great and I will likely repurchase, once I’ve had a go at making my own and massively failed.
It costs £9.99 and is available from their website.
This months box also came with two sample sachets of Lavera Hand & Nail Cream and Aussie Three Minute Reconstructer. Both of these products I’ve purchased before now.
They are both great products in their own right but not products I couldn’t live without. So I passed both of these samples over to my mum.
This months box was really a good one. I’m really impressed with the quality of products on offer. I think for £6.99 a month all in. You just can’t go wrong.
One of the great things with the YBB. Is that you get promotional codes, to use on the brands featured that month. Meaning if you didn’t pick something you wish you had, it you really love something – you can grab more of it for a bargain price.
I mentioned earlier that I also have a giveaway running. You might remember a few months back I mentioned getting the Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven Spa Range products in my You Beauty Box.
They got in contact with me and kindly offered to send out three full sets of the range, for me to give away to my readers.
So all you have to do is comment below with the one beauty product you can’t live without, that’s it. I will keep the giveaway open until Sunday 22nd January 2017 and its open internationally. So get commenting and three of you lucky devils will win one full set of the spa range valued at over £8!
You can find the Montagne Jeunesse 7th Heaven at Primark, Asda and Ocado.
As always if there is anything you would like me to discuss, debate or review. Drop me a line using the contact form found here.
So until next time,
I paid in full for the You Beauty Box. All opinions expressed here are my own. I am not being paid or compensated in anyway for anything I’ve said above. The 7th Heaven range was sent to me, to giveaway to my subscribers. I have not received any compensation for that. Apart from a rather lovely white wicker basket. Which you will no doubt see plastered across my Instagram in future.
