How is it December already? I feel like this year slipped right past me!! I hope you’re having a stress free and happy start to the festive month.
We put our tree up this weekend. Nasiah is ridiculously excited for our Pantomime trip this Friday. I’m excited for Mince Pies to become a staple in my diet again. Hey, we all make our own choices haha!
So after my Hair, Beauty & Makeup faves. I thought it would be good to also be good to cover the other side of the coin.
I’m still trying to get a feel for what content needs to come here. So I’m just following what lights me up for the moment. If/Until I find a niche, great stuff.
But for now I think just being authentically Jada, is necessary.
Anyway, on with the faves
Firstly my favourite Christmas decoration. A vintage Disney Carousel. For the past 7 years I’ve had nowhere to display this beauty. But I finally got my first place and I’m so glad to have it out. This was purchased in Disneyland Orlando by my Grandparents, in 1987.
It’s still in the original box and all the lights (bar Mickey’s overhead one) work. It plays 26 different Christmas songs and all the characters move.
After losing my Gran in 2012. Having a little bit of her spirit in our house this year, is much needed.
One of my most loved, is this candle from DW Homes. I’m a big fan of the DW brand. Their price and quality can’t be knocked.
Unfortunately the only places they’re available over here is TK Maxx. Which is fine if you have a tidy well stocked store. Our Leeds one however, leaves a lot to be desired.
Vanilla has never been a strong love of mine. I usually find them ridiculously artificial. I find this one to be an amazing bakery scent. Imagine freshly baked cakes with frosting and buttercream. It’s amazing!
Plus just look at that jar! Art Deco fabulous! For £7.99 I really don’t think you can knock it. However my one pet peeve with this brand. People buy them up like crazy and resell on eBay at ridiculous prices. Meaning all the ones I love the look one, I would have to pay triple the price for and I refuse to do that.
Also on the home list. My ceramic drip cup. Takes up hella less space than a coffee machine. Yet gives me that strong lava Java I need, to function on a morning. I purchased this on eBay for £6.99 inc free delivery and it arrived at my door less than 20 hours after I ordered.
Whilst I don’t have a picture of this alone. I did use it for my #WashiWednesday shot last week, so here it is looking arty.
It’s surprisingly sturdy and really does make a decent cup of coffee. It’s perfect for any limited kitchen space dwellers like myself.
Well top of this has to be my new camera. The Canon 1300D this thing is amazing! I’m hoping to start, as I know I’ve mentioned before, my YouTube channel.
However doing so on my phone, is neither practical nor logical. So I took the leap and invested in this baby. I’m really happy with my purchase so far and will hopefully be able to bring more quality content across my platforms with it.
This month has been quiet on the stationary front for me. I’ve done my best to no spend. Although Black Friday had me falling all the way off. I scooped up stickers from Miss Adaline and Rockaway Paper Company. Plus a TN from Ugly Bug Does and a envelope full of black girl magic from Red Bubble.
The past few weeks have seen me utilising a lot of black and white in my spreads and mixing function with deco. The inserts I’m using currently are coloured, which with my OCD tendencies disturb me a little when trying to coordinate. So I figured sticking with the black and white. Made my spreads a lot less hectic.
I’ve found that my spreads are the same week in week out. Cute girl sticker, sassy quote, washi. But hey, it seems to work for me. So I’m sticking with it.
So that’s really it for my Home, Tech & Stationary faves. I’m not sure that this will be a rolling feature on my blog. However, it will, no doubt, sporadically pop up from time to time.
Nasiah and I, have been invited to a Christmas Panto at White Rose Theatre this Friday. So we are really looking forward to that. Be sure to check my social media for more on that. But here’s how to grab a bargain on tickets, should you fancy having a canny good time!
